None of us know the day or time when we will leave this earth. If I were dying, there would be many emotions: sadness, grief, shock, anxiety, worry, peace, and more. But after an attempt to sort through my emotions, I would be most concerned to say what needed to be said to those I love, particularly my children.
There are certain things I’ve learned that I want to be sure to pass on to them. Most important is that Josh, Heather, Michelle and Melissa know how very much they are loved and cherished. They are special gifts from God, each with wonderful personalities and unique gifts. To be honest, they are amazing, as are their spouses.
Here are my nuggets of wisdom:
God loves you more than anyone on this earth.
Always trust Jesus, no matter how tough life may be.
Tell the truth, even when it may be difficult.
Be grateful for all the wonderful blessings you have been given.
Read your Bible daily.
Know that no matter what happens, God has a plan.
Your faith and beliefs are the foundation of who you are.
Find a church home and become a part of that fellowship.
Don’t take your spouse for granted, they are a gift.
Find your passion in life and make it happen.
Appreciate the little things in life.
Laugh often, humor is healing.
Don’t forget to have fun, especially with your family.
Always respect our great country and the American flag.
Make yourself available to God and He will use you to help others.
Look for opportunities to be the hands and feet of Jesus.
Tithe. You cannot outgive God.
Make rest a priority. Take naps.
Pray like you are talking to a friend, because you are.
Take time to listen to God’s voice.
Be tender and compassionate.
Love your family, they are your heritage.
All of us realize life can change in a split second. Don’t risk not sharing with your children what this life has taught you. Write them a letter, make a video, write a book, tell them your story. No, I’m not sick, dead or dying. The Holy Spirit poured this blog post into my mind one afternoon a few minutes before taking a nap. I grabbed a note pad, and the words flowed. So, I’m just being obedient in sharing these words.
Make the opportunity to share your wisdom with those you leave behind.
But from everlasting to everlasting the Lord’s love is with those who fear him, and his righteousness with their children’s children—with those who keep his covenant and remember to obey his precepts. Psalms 103:17-18
I'll just copy ur list and send it to them! 🤣😇
