Stuff Happens
Sorry, I’ve been MIA and haven’t posted for a couple of weeks. I had a serious fall, resulting in a small brain bleed and also fracturing my right shoulder. My orthopedic surgeon did a shoulder replacement and after a week in the hospital, I spent another week in a rehab facility before returning home 5/30/26.
My husband was gone when my accident occurred and I laid on the floor for two extremely long painful hours. Jesus and I had a very long conversation, as I made a sincere effort to stay awake because I was worried I might have a concussion.
I don’t know why this happened, but I do know that I have felt God‘s strong presence throughout these past 2+ weeks. Romans 8:28 tells us that all things work together for good for those who love the Lord and have been called according to His purpose. I’m standing on that promise. To be honest my emotions have been all over the place. With only one arm, I am totally dependent on others, which is very difficult.
I will tell you that God placed some amazing people in my path these past two weeks, and I had the opportunity to share the story of my new book with many of the staff at the rehab facility. Check out I'm Glad I was Adopted: A Journey to Wholeness and Faith.
My right arm is in a sling, as I learn how to live life temporarily using my left hand and arm. And yes, I am right-handed. My wonderful husband is serving as chauffeur, chef, hairdresser, physical therapist, housekeeper and is holding everything together.
I am still very weak and am working to build up my strength and currently have to rely on walking with a cane. The recovery from a shoulder replacement I’m told by Dr. Wortham, my trauma surgeon is a 6 month to one year process. Please pray for healing and for my strength to return sooner than later.
Taking it one day at a time as I recover.
God bless you, my special readers, you are dear to me.

Roxanne,
I am so sorry this happened to you. I will continue my prayers for your recovery. Keep your faith close. I am so glad that you have a great husband to help you too. Take care of yourself.
See you in some form next week!
Alice
Rox,
I wish I was there to be on the care-for-Rox-team. So I am joining your prayer team. I admire the way you cling to God and share the tough parts too. That is truly human and each of us in our smaller adventures can relate to those feelings and scripture. Well done. Well done.
Dear friend, I wish I had been more attentive. We leave in 3 days and there is much to do. Not complaining just busy. I am thankful Your talent is not dependent on your arm , although typing is easier. I hope you have Speech to Text program on your computer. I use one constantly, too, but for my dyslexic hurdles. But it is grand way to continue your fine ministry .
We all love your voice too so it is a win win. If you decide to Speak your messages!
1 Corith 14:2 says in the Message Bible: 'Give yourselves to the gifts God gives you. ' Your healing is primary and you know that, gently with yourself, dear sister. My writing tremendously help me deal with our recent hurdle. We love you, I love you,
